Dr. Khealynn Harris

Aloha I'm Dr. Harris! The owner and founder of Mauna Family Dental.

The two things I'm most proud of in life are my family and my profession. 

​

I have wanted to be a dentists since I can remember and I grew up trying to be as involved in the dental field as possible. From a young age I started working for my aunt, a dentist in New York City. She served as my inspiration and a role model from the very beginning. 

 

I come from a large family of 7 and grew up in Bountiful, Utah. I met my husband while studying Physiology and Developmental Biology at Brigham Young University.  He worked for 8 years as a fire fighter/paramedic while I completed school.  After graduating from dental school we moved to Washington state where I practiced in a community health clinic in the small town of Yelm.

My husband and I have three children ages 6, 9 and 12. We moved to Hawaii 5 years ago and have enjoyed learning about the Island and its rich culture. We love to spend our weekends at the beach or camping and we love to travel to the mainland to visit family and friends. In my spare time I enjoy reading, music, exercising, crafts and serving in my local church. 

 

I am blessed to play a role in the non-profit organization The LOVE Project; a foundation founded by my mother, that travels to South America annually to provide free dental care and donate other daily essentials to families in underserved communities. I run the dental program and organize the emergency and preventive care of those that we serve.

 

I am a member of the ADA, HDA and currently serving as the secretary of the Hawaii County Dental Society.

Being a dentist and owning my own practice is a dream come true and I am so grateful to be able to be a part of this beautiful community of Hilo, Hawaii.
